Holiday Inn Tampa North, an IHG Hotel

As many people know hotels in Tampa near Busch Gardens don’t have the best selection, but this hotel has been the best experience! We booked our room through a third party but upon arrival we had been placed in a room that we did not book, Sharon at the front desk was amazing in getting us our desired room, she even personally brought up extra pillows and blankets to our room. Tammy and (I’m sorry didn’t get the other lady’s name) from the bar where we had breakfast were super friendly and pleasant! Rooms were clean and everyone from front desk to the housekeepers exceptionally friendly! We will be back !

Inconsistency from front desk staff. We requested late check out from the GM the day before we checked out and he said we were good. The day of check out, the front desk called and told us we weren’t allowed to have late check out because it was full. When questioned further, she changed her story to they weren’t allowing anyone to have late checkout. Desk staff could not provide a procedure for late check out, stating we would have had to ask for late checkout the morning of checkout. Then the story changed to its first come, first serve. We still have no idea what the procedure is. And it really seems kind of strange that the general manager wouldn’t know the correct procedure for a late checkout request and tell us we had it.

I tried to check into my hotel on a Friday night but someone was already checked into my room under my name and reservation number. When the problem was brought to their attention the front desk staff was very rude to me for their mistake. I called corporate about my experience and I waited for a manager to call me back the following Tuesday. All I got was a “sorry that was your experience with us during your stay and we will talk with the staff regarding this issue”. The hotel itself was just okay. The shower doors wouldn’t stay closed. The toilet wouldn’t flush so we had to fix it ourselves. The ac doesn’t stay cold regardless of what you set it to and left us pulling the covers off and on all night. The pillows provided are hard and flat, I wish I would have brought my own from home. We noticed towards the end of our stay that our sheets weren’t clean cause we found bloody boogers on them. The location of this hotel is why we booked here but in the future I would just rather pay for an airbnb to be honest. Stay here at your own risk.

Sharing the GSR that checked us in was rude n ignorant. I’m an IHG member was told through reservations a 130-200 check in want a problem since my uncle is a cancer patient n stayed 4 other times got to check in at 1:48 told check in is at 3 or $20 per room. Asked for GM Sharon told me she’s GM no one above her her well I was aGM for choice n Marriott for 30 yrs n called holiday inn direct filled a a complaint waiting for response. My review horrible customer service nasty n treat’s first disrespect n ignorance!! Wont recommend or stay again n will be here 6 more mths 2 week. Rather stay at Marriott or La Quiantia right next door n offer Moffit discount. Very very disappointed
